Our Mission Statement
The Kingston Grenadiers Drum & Bugle Corps provides an opportunity for people of all ages to develop an appreciation for the performing arts. This is achieved through our professional instruction, education and learned through this musical and marching activity, in which there is a blending of the arts and athletics.

Objectives
The objectives of the Kingston Grenadiers Drum & Bugle Corps Inc. shall be as follows:

  1. To provide competent instruction on brass, percussion and guard for any person who wishes to learn, regardless of their sex, age, race, religion, or creed.
  2. To represent Canada, the City of Kingston and its surrounding area in parades, exhibitions, concerts and competitions.
  3. To encourage and promote the drum and bugle corps activity in the City of Kingston and area.
  4. To provide semi-professional musicians the opportunity to perform before the public.
  5. To promote social activities and camaraderie within the corps.
  6. To bind together in a spirit of fraternity and good sportsmanship, all members of the corps

KINGSTON GRENADIERS IS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS

The cornerstone of our organization is the continued support of volunteers. The Grenadiers need your assistance in several areas in order to make this fine corps the best it can be. Enjoy a weekend sharing the Drum Corps experience. You will be amazed at the dedication and energy these members have in order to meet the corps yearly goals.

If you have only a few hours or if you want more involvement with the Corps, we have positions available for you. Please fill out the Volunteer Form below that describes our many needs and time commitments for each position. You will notice approximate time commitments and a brief description of each of the areas involved.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

SEWING: assist in uniform and flag maintenance alterations repairs and sewing of flags as per direction of the visual team.
Time Commitment: on going, depending on requirements set out by the visual designers especially colour guard.

EQUIPMENT: setting up and help issue equipment listing serial numbers and assist making repairs. Assist in keeping trucks and trailers organized and clean of debris.
Time commitment
: camps and show events.

MEAL PROGRAM: assist in preparation and purchasing of food for approx. 100 people. Establishing a pricing criteria and helping to cook and serve and cleaning up.
Time commitment: camp weekends unless prior arrangements have been made. Show events
minimum 2 meals to a maximum of 3 . Breakfast, lunch and pre show(light meal).

CHAPERONE: during corp functions ensuring that the code of conduct is adhered to and respected.
Time commitment: when available for show events, sleep overs and bus trips.

BUS/TRUCK DRIVERS: persons with the appropriate documentation to assist driving and maintaining our vehicles. Must be over 25 years of age with a clean driving record .
Time Commitments: camp weekends, out of Kingston and show events as well.

FUND RAISING: assisting the Promotions and Marketing person in various operations to generate funds for the corps. Souvenir table and assisting in other ways to raise funds for the corps.
Time commitment: show events and on going events through out our schedule.

SOCIAL COMMITTEE: to inform the board of births, family deaths. Plan social events (banquet) with the corps and purchase gifts flowers etc .
Time Commitment: on going as required throughout the year.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS: to attend monthly meetings and take on tasks that need to be done.
Time Commitment: on going through out the year. Monthly meetings, camps and shows and additional tasks as needed. Most committees should have a chairperson if one is not already designated.
